WHAT HIS FRIENDS SAY ABOUT JESUS
John the Baptist was Jesus’ second cousin. He knew Jesus from boyhood.
This is what He said about Him:
“Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
He is the one who comes after me, the thongs of whose sandals
I am not worthy to untie. This is the one I meant when I said ‘A man
Who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me’.”
(John 1: 27,29-30)
Peter, the fisherman, one of Jesus’ followers, after an astonishing catch:
“Go away from me, Lord, I am a sinful man!” (Luke 5: 8)
His disciples, after Jesus had calmed a raging storm that threatened to
Sink their boat:
“Who is this, that even the wind and the waves obey him?” (Mark 4: 41)
Thomas the doubter, after seeing Jesus alive again :
“My Lord and my God!” (John 20: 28)
John, writing of his time with Jesus many years later:
“He who was from the beginning, whom we have heard, who we have seen
with our eyes, who we have looked at and our hands have touched—
Him we proclaim concerning the Word of life. He who is the life appeared;
we have seen Him and testify to Him and we proclaim to you
the eternal life, who came from the Father and has appeared to us.
(I John 1: 1-3)
